Pittsburgh Pirates 2021 Draft Prospects: IF Brady House
The 2021 MLB Draft is just under 10 weeks away, and the Pittsburgh Pirates have the number one draft pick with names like Jordan Lawlar, Kumar Rocker, and Jack Leiter all being in on the mix. However, if it is young raw power the Pirates are looking for, they may find it in a young high school shortstop from Tennessee named Brady House. When looking at the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as a whole, there is one glaring problem at every level of the Minor League system. There is almost no power in the organization, with only one player hitting more than 25 home runs during the 2019 season when all Minor League teams were in action, and that was Mason Martin. While pitching and defense are both very important, the offense has to be able to score runs, and a true power threat is the key to making those run-scoring opportunities more abundant.
