Justin Meis Coming Home: Pittsburgh Kid Signs With Hometown Team
In the 10th round of the 2021 Draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected former Bethel Park baseball player Justin Meis. Now, the Pittsburgh kid is looking to climb the ladder and bring his talents to his hometown. Growing up, Justin Meis was just like many kids who grew up here in Western Pennsylvania. He bled Black and Gold and dreamed of one day playing for his hometown team. On the second day of the MLB Draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates helped make that dream come true when they drafted Meis in the 10th round. Meis knew he was a prospect for the 2021 draft, but he wasn't quite sure when he would be picked. He and his family were in Deep Creek, Maryland on vacation when he got the call that would change his life. The Pittsburgh kid was being drafted by his hometown team and realized his dream of becoming a professional baseball player.
